John L. Fiegel has served as an association management leader for over 20 years following a distinguished military career. John has worked with standalone organizations as well as providing services through association management companies.
He has provided interim executive leadership to a number of organizations in transition, including the National Parking Association, National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association, Destination ImagiNation, and the Society for Competitive Intelligence Professionals.
Since 1988, John L. Fiegel has served as executive director in over fifteen professional societies and trade associations, often simultaneously within association management companies, among them the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems, Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, International District Energy Association, and World Airline Entertainment Association.
Prior to his association career, John served in the US Air Force from which he ended his career as a Lieutenant Colonel. During most of his career, he served in the Pentagon on the Air Staff, in the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and within the Office of the Secretary of Defense. His specialties were international affairs, planning, programming, and budgeting.
John earned his a Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives.
John holds a Master of Science degree in International Affairs from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from Texas A&M University.
